El avance de que se viene un relanzamiento del Rey León (mi película favorita de la infancia) me tiene emocionada y se me ocurrió que estaría bueno hacer mi propia versión live-action de uno de los personajes, ya que siempre me estoy quejando de como quedan los remake.I am really excited about the upcoming Lion King (favourite film ever) live-action adaptation and it ocurred to me that it would be nice to make my own version of one of the characters since I am always complaining about the remake designs.
Elegí a Scar, quien resultó más difícil de lo que pensaba. Es el león que menos coincide con su contraparte real, es muy caricaturesco. Mantuve la paleta lo mejor que pude porque me parece que eso es lo que hace digamos el contraste con el héroe, a pesar de que en la naturaleza no existen leones de pelaje oscuro. El cuerpo también fue difícil, porque a pesar de que en teoría es el hermano menor parece demacrado y me costó darle la vuelta para que no se viera demasiado viejo. La melena hice dos versiones: una más realista tupida y otra más rala pegada al cuello. Lo que me pareció más importante fue la mirada, verde de envidia, que tenía que ser bien expresiva. I choose Scar, who ended up being really difficult. The design is way too different fron its real counterpart, too cartoony. I kept the colour pallette because I think that is what makes the contrast with the hero, even when there are no real lions with dark fur in nature. The body was also a problem, because even when he is supossed to be the younger brother he has this sickly / unhealthy look about him and it was difficult not to make him look old. I made two mane versions, one with more fluff, thicker, the other scarce. The eyes were the most important part, green with envy, should be really expressive.
Para terminar con algo de drama. Se me ocurrió que como la película tiene 2 tiempos (Simba chico - Simba grande). Podría verse el paso del tiempo en un aclaramiento de las patillas.
To finish with some drama. I thought that since the movie has 2 times (younger Simba - grown Simba). Scar could develop silver sideburns.
